As a Lead/ Senior Operations Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers to provide cost-effective and efficient maintenance service that will ensure plant availability in delivering a secure supply of products to customers.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

Responsibilities

  • Identify the root cause of technical problems and effectively resolve these to ensure process and equipment availability

  • Ensure a responsive and effective resolution of complex problems that are interdisciplinary in nature

  • Conducts quality checks with owners, where appropriate, upon completion of the work

  • Comply with related Group Quality Policy requirements and ensure full familiarity and implementation of all applicable GSK Corporate Governance Policies

  • Assist the production team in providing technical expertise for the troubleshooting of equipment breakdown and failures

  • Communicate with maintenance supervisors and other departments stakeholders for improvements

  • Maintain the site equipment and facility to high Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard meeting the regulatory expectations such that the site is always inspection ready

  • Lead engineers in identifying areas of improvement and implementing continuous improvements to enhance reliability and cost-effectiveness of Engineering activities

  • Accountable for identified risks as well as the development and monitoring of risk mitigation plans

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree in any Engineering fields

  • 5 years or more of relevant experience

  • Upstream experience in Fermentation and purification is preferred. 

  • Experience in Bulk upstream processes / system / equipment preferred e.g. Fermentation, SIP/CIP, Delta V, chromatography systems, ultrafiltration

  • People management experience is preferred.

  • Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment

  • Experience in change management, stakeholder management, process innovation and optimization, equipment troubleshooting

  • Evidence of logical approach to complex problems  

  • Experience with safety hazards and safety assessments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent Tech understanding over a broad range of mechanical systems

  • Good understanding of compliance (Engineering, Quality, Safety)

  • Good written and verbal communications skills

  • Solid computer skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

  • Good understanding and experience on Project Management
