About You and this Role
Dow's Packaging & Specialty Plastics business has an exciting opportunity available for a Lead Reliability Engineer to support High Pressure Operations within our Victoria, Texas F-Unit Facility.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to facilitate the development of the business/facility maintenance strategy and solve reliability and availability losses through application of reliability technology and tools to enable the plant to meet its business plan and strategy.
You will focus on those opportunities that over a long-term period or historically have impacted the plant’s measured asset capability and the opportunities identified as "high-risk" in risk assessments, reliability models and other evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for reliability projects by aligning with Business Leadership on funding allocations and prioritizing high return initiatives.
- Create and Validate Equipment Reliability Strategies based upon Top Opportunity List, Critical Equipment List, and identified plant/business needs.
- Improve PPM (Predictive preventative maintenance) program by evaluating equipment failure events and preventing future downtime and equipment loss.
- Identifies and resolves Top Reliability Opportunities and decreases equipment failure losses to meet the site Product Supply Reliability improvement goals for the given year.
- Uses reliability engineering principles and tools (Weibull, RCI, FMEA) to identify and eliminate negative reliability trends and equipment performance.
- Review condition-based monitoring results to be able to respond to indicators before major failures occur.
- Provide technical expertise to plant and/or Maintenance Personnel on troubleshooting equipment problems to assist in resolution or clear repair scope development.
- Serves as RCI Team Leader with proven RCI skills, coaches others in RCI facilitation and ensures strong RCI/CAPA fundamentals are practiced within the unit.
- Provides front end loading support for plant Turnarounds.
- Assists maintenance representatives and project teams to design reliability, availability, and maintainability into new plants and equipment systems using Dow’s GPM work process discipline.
- Facilitates the annual maintenance budget setting process.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (i.e. reliability, engineering, process manufacturing, etc.).
- Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment. Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
