PURPOSE

Working closely with MGIC customers, partners, business operations and IS organization, provides ownership of the strategic customer experience roadmap. Ensures customer-facing systems used throughout the lifecycle of a loan offer effective, efficient, and secure means of doing business with MGIC. Identifies opportunities and drives business process design work to support the transformation of customer experience technology solutions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate across appropriate internal and external parties to create and document future state vision, including but not limited to, I.S. teams, business teams, customers, and technology partners. 
  • Serve as voice of the business and of the customer while working with the project and development teams. 
  • Analyze new and existing business processes and systems, looking for opportunities to streamline and automate.
  • Create new concepts designed to enable new and evolving business strategies, outlining a comprehensive product roadmap designed to deliver necessary features to support MGIC’s business strategy.
  • Create comprehensive ideas and distill complex business processes to design business solutions, business requirements, and product concepts.
  • Develop and present comprehensive proposals for product concepts to the business community, refine based on feedback, drive buy-in, and facilitate stakeholder acceptance throughout the delivery.
  • Participate in the creation of features and user stories, maintain an appropriate size backlog, and collaborate regularly with the team to ensure desired business results.  Prioritize work and contribute to refinement of sprint planning to ensure value is delivered each sprint.
    • Work with Business Analysts, Developers, and other resources to ensure comprehensive understanding of the product goals and priorities.
    • Align priorities and outcomes to attainment of minimal viable product, ensuring maximum value attained for least amount of effort.
  • Translate business strategy and goals into product deliverables, creating and maintaining detailed product documentation.
  • Effectively prioritize requests to remain consistent with corporate priorities.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing to ensure business objectives are being met.
  • Participate in creation/publication of go-to-market deliverables associated with the product. May participate in ongoing education activities.
  • Interface with and act as point of contact with technology partners to facilitate collaboration where needed on awareness, joint features, release scheduling, etc.
  • Participate in end-user adoption activities for training and rollout, including providing input to training guides, documenting policy and procedures, and orchestrating additional change management activities as necessary.
  • Manage change dynamics while sustaining resiliency in delivering new products and work processes across the organization
  • Travel as required.

EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND

  • Ability to influence and gain traction in advising new and different ways to accomplish work
  • Ability to attain consensus and guide senior leaders and business constituents towards a solution (VP & above – across functional areas)
  • Understanding of higher complexity technical solutions and their impact on MGIC
  • Aptitude to shape and drive operating model changes
  • Ability to facilitate periodic workshops, planning sessions, or strategy sessions for the product
  • Clear and concise communication of priorities – adept at distilling complexity
  • Organization and creation of detailed concepts; strength in facilitating and guiding the group to an understanding of current to future state, as well as the critical transition points and phases – ability to define immediate and long-term plans (very high complexity)
  • Responsible for changes that have enterprise impact and not only identifying the changes in business process, but also articulating the operating model and people changes
  • Effective translation of business strategy to technology features and priorities
  • In depth knowledge of residential mortgage industry and the role of mortgage insurance
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage origination technology solutions.
  • Agile methodology, practice and roadmap planning
  • Experience with business process modeling tools and activities for shaping lean business processes
  • Project management principles and practices
  • Change management practice; ability to address areas of transition or transformation of organizational goals and processes, as well as their effect on the people involved
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
