We are hiring remote workers for this role in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, or Minneapolis areas. At this time, only candidates in these locations will be considered. 

What You'll Do

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Core Services Product Manager to drive the development of Calm’s Subscription Services, along with foundational platform features such as Calm Identity Management and Calm Content Service. In this role, you will design and deliver scalable, user-focused solutions that serve both Direct-to-Consumer (DtC) and Business-to-Business (B2B) audiences, ensuring seamless integration, flexibility, and alignment with Calm’s expanding portfolio of applications and services.

Subscription Services Leadership

  • Define and Execute Strategy: Lead the development of Calm’s subscription systems, ensuring robust solutions for billing, renewals, upgrades, cancellations, and multi-user access (e.g., family or enterprise plans).
  • Optimize Offerings: Create flexible subscription models to support diverse pricing structures, bundling, and promotional campaigns for DtC and B2B markets.
  • Enhance Global Scalability: Build systems that support global pricing, currency localization, and tax compliance to serve a growing international audience.
  • Streamline User Experience: Ensure subscription flows (e.g., onboarding, trials, and renewals) are seamless, intuitive, and aligned with user needs across all platforms.

Platform Feature Ownership

  • Identity Management: Oversee the development of secure, scalable user authentication and access management systems to deliver a unified experience across Calm’s family of applications.
  • Content Service: Drive enhancements to Calm’s content delivery platform, ensuring personalized and efficient access to tailored content for diverse user demographics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with DtC and B2B product teams to align subscription services with business goals and product roadmaps.
  • Partner with Finance, Customer Success, and Legal teams to ensure compliance, streamline payment processing, and support accurate reporting.
  • Work closely with the content team to align platform capabilities with Calm’s evolving content roadmap.

Data and Insights-Driven Decisions

  • Use subscription metrics (e.g., churn rates, retention trends) and customer feedback to inform feature development and system optimization.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary advocate for subscription services within Calm, presenting updates, roadmaps, and metrics to leadership and cross-functional teams based on cross functional input.
  • Balance immediate needs with long-term strategic planning, ensuring the platform evolves in anticipation of Calm’s growth.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 8+ years of product management experience, ideally in subscription services or platform development for SaaS or consumer technology companies.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of subscription systems, recurring billing platforms (e.g., Stripe, Zuora, Recurly), and API-driven platform development.
  • Customer-Centric: Proven ability to design subscription solutions for individual consumers and enterprise clients with a focus on usability and scalability.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience using analytics tools to identify trends, predict churn, and drive retention strategies.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with a history of working effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining clear communication.
  • Strategic Thinking: Business acumen to anticipate market needs and design scalable systems that align with Calm’s mission and goals.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in mental health or wellness industries or a background in global subscription systems.

Calm uses a geographic pay model that determines salaries based on the location where an employee lives. For this position, the base pay ranges across Calm’s pay tiers is as follows $155,000 - $260,000.  The base pay range represents the low and high end of Calm’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. Calm uses employee zip code to determine which pay range applies. This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.
