We are seeking a Lead, Music Business Development to focus on supporting business relationships with key partners across the globe to support all music initiatives at Snap. This includes striking licensing agreements with Performing Rights Organizations (“PROs”) and Collective Management Organizations (“CMOs”) in key territories around the world.
What You'll Do:

Negotiate and secure global distribution rights from global PROs / CMOs

Drive licensing strategy and economic models for new partnerships to ensure we have the broadest selection of content available

Forge long lasting relationships with existing and new rights owners

Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform strategic planning

Achieve operational excellence with internal and external partners

Dive deep to solve complex rights related issues
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Experience working with scaled technology platforms that have a focus on music products
-
Proven track record in closing agreements with PROs / CMOs in key territories in a timely manner

Ability to work across time zones to accommodate ex-US licensors

Can facilitate meetings with multiple senior stakeholders within the music industry

Team player who can work across multiple groups, including product, engineering, legal, finance and other XFN teams

Strong analytical and quantitative skills

Demonstrated understanding of the global rights landscape and complexities with music licensing
Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years managing licensing for a music-focused technology platform, digital music service or rights owners

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):
The base salary range for this position is $142,000-$214,000 annually.
Zone B:
The base salary range for this position is $135,000-$203,000 annually.
Zone C:
The base salary range for this position is $121,000-$182,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
