Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description
As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering infrastructure and performance excellence, thereby shaping the future of one of the world's largest and most influential companies. Your deep understanding of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline will be crucial. You will also have the opportunity to expand your technical and cross-functional knowledge beyond your primary domain of expertise. This role provides the chance to lead a workstream or project involving one or more infrastructure engineering technologies, and collaborate with other platforms to design and implement changes necessary to resolve issues and modernize our organization and its technology processes.
Job responsibilities

• Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope
• Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
• Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
• Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
• Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
• Ber Flexible to work in off hours/weekends & in 24x7 on-call rotation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Advanced knowledge and experience with network load balancing technologies (F5 Networks).
• Very good understanding in multiple infrastructure technologies and protocols including Global and Local load balancing, DNS, network routing, switching, firewalls and proxies.
• Experienced and knowledge in the following key areas:
  • Network Engineering (planning, provision)
  • Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations)
  • Hardware Benchmarking (program management, network management)
  • Design (compliance, security).
• Good knowledge and understanding of REST/JSON, API implementation and container based technologies.
• Experience with programmatic methods of network device interaction, configuration and lifecycle management.
• Proficient in one programming language (ex. Python) and automation framework (Ansible)
• Thorough understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design, performance and monitoring, best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, launch, and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget.
• Ability to collaborate with different teams and roles to achieve common goals.
• Ability to articulate to more experienced management a technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms.
• Hands on experience with Atlassian products such as JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Exposure to cloud technologies
• Ability to multi-task across project/initiatives and deliver according to time commitments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code - IaC implementation is a plus
• Technology experience in a very large financial or regulated environment is a plus.
