Are you ready to join a team who works for every patient having access to the best possible cancer care? We have an exciting opportunity in our Helsinki office for a Lead GPU Algorithm Engineer to develop high-quality clinical software and solutions for treatment management applications. In this role, you will work with shaping advanced algorithms and applications that make a real difference in people’s lives.

The team is working on an exciting software development project within the medical device industry, creating a seamless and precise cancer treatment planning system for our Elekta Linac radiation therapy machines worldwide.

What you’ll do at Elekta

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain compute-intensive software (primarily in CUDA and C++) with focus on computational efficiency, safety, quality, and usability

  • Prototype and evaluate algorithms (Python/C++ or similar), ensuring robustness, accuracy, and performance

  • Participate in architectural and detailed design discussions, requirements engineering, and product risk analysis

  • Review code and associated artifacts, maintaining high engineering and QA standards

  • Plan and track tasks, keeping progress, status, and risks transparent to the project team and stakeholders

  • Actively improve your soft skills regarding team collaboration, communication, and building relations within your professional network

What you bring

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in GPU algorithm development (CUDA)

  • Proficiency in C++/C# and Visual Studio, with knowledge of software design and methodologies

  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; a true team player

  • Experience with lean and agile development methodologies (advantageous)
