Overview:
In this role, the Lead Engineer will participate in new design, redesign and sustenance activities of Aircraft Interior products like Water and Ice Protection Systems. Candidate should have 4 to 6 years of experience in design & development of the Mechanical/Electromechanical & Components preferably in aerospace domain.
Position: Lead Engineer (P2) – Mechanical Engineer.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Understand the design requirements and execute the design by understanding the methodology and application.
- Develop design concepts and CAD models.
- Development of design documents such as engineering drawings & reports (test procedure and report)
- Selection of material, standard components, manufacturing process for the new design.
- Execute the engineering change request and Order.
- Perform the tolerance stack-up of the design and application of GD&T into the design.
- Collaboration with cross functional team and establish the project update communication.
- Design and develop test fixtures and executing the engineering testing.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve the engineering related issues & implement the improvements.
- Coordinate with global team for the project execution.
Skills:
- Experience in NX & Catia (Solid modeling, Sheet metal modeling Surface Modeling and Electrical Harness).
- Experience in design of structures, mechanisms, tools, jigs & fixtures.
- knowledge in Solid mechanics, loading conditions & failure mechanism.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing processes and Aerospace Materials (metal/elastomer/polymers/composite).
- Experience in Teamcenter Engineering. Any other PLM/PDM knowledge is an added advantage.
- Experience in developing and preparing engineering drawing for component parts, assemblies per ASME standard.
- Working knowledge of metallic parts design, thermoplastic and thermoset composite design, manufacturing methods, joining methods for Components preferably in aerospace domain.
- Good to have working knowledge in Aerospace grade mechanical /electromechanical systems / component/ testing, certification & qualification (DO-160G).
- Experience of engineering testing & report preparation (test plan, test report and compliance matrix)
- Able to take ownership and handle the projects without any supervision.
- Strong in analytical thinking.
- Strong in communication and coordination with local and global team.
Basic Qualifications:
- 4 to 6 years of experience in design & development of Mechanical/Electromechanical & Components preferably in aerospace domain.
- Qualification: B.E/ Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
