As a hands-on Data Engineering Manager you will lead and grow our data function. You will design, implement, and maintain robust data systems, power analytics and reporting capabilities, and collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering to drive critical data initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small data engineering team to develop data models, reporting APIs, visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
  • Supervise the Data Migration Engineer responsible for onboarding and migrating customer data from competitor platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end ETL pipelines across diverse data sources.
  • Play a key role in shaping Monument’s broader data strategy, including data governance, integration with BI platforms, and scaling analytics infrastructure.
  • Partner with engineering leads to design and approve database schema changes, ensuring integrity, scalability, and operational stability.
  • Ensure database schema updates are applied safely to production environments.
  • Develop internal tools to monitor, validate, and improve data quality and reliability.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of RDBMS and ETL experience with a strong emphasis on SQL.
  • Deep expertise in MySQL or similar systems (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, etc.).
  • Proven experience working with large-scale data systems and integrating with platforms like DOMO, or Power BI.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (TypeScript, JavaScript, Python).
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly RDS/Aurora and S3.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
