Job Description for Lead Data Architect As a Lead Data Architecture Specialist within our Global Data and Analytics team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the architecture and strategy for our organization's data management and analytics initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize data architectures that support our business objectives and enable data-driven decision-making. This role requires deep expertise in data architecture principles, a strong understanding of emerging and open-source technologies, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient data solutions. Responsibilities: 1. Data Architecture Design and Development: • Lead the design and development of scalable, flexible, and robust data architectures that support both current and future business needs. • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists to understand requirements and translate them into architectural designs. • Define data models, schemas, and data flows to ensure data consistency, integrity, and accessibility acrossthe organization. • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the data architecture and drive innovation. 2. Data Governance and Management: • Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements. • Design and implement data management processes for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval. • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation to facilitate understanding and traceability of data assets. 3. Performance Optimization and Scalability: • Identify performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities within the data architecture and implement solutions to improve efficiency and scalability. • Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and workload management to ensure optimal performance of data processing and analytics applications. • Implement data partitioning, indexing, and caching strategies to enhance query performance and reduce latency. 4. Data Integration and Interoperability: Classification: Internal • Design and implement data integration solutions to facilitate seamless data exchange and interoperability between different systems, applications, and platforms. • Evaluate and integrate third-party data sources, APIs, and data services to enrich internal datasets and enhance analytical capabilities. • Implement data integration patterns such as batch processing, realtime streaming, and event-driven architectures. 5. Team Leadership and Collaboration: • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the data architecture team. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, data science, IT operations, and business units to align data architecture initiatives with business goals and priorities. • Participate in Agile development processes, sprint planning, and backlog grooming activities. 6. Qualifications: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. • 12+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related role. • Deep understanding of data architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices. • Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and SQL. • Hands-on experience with OLTP, OLAP & data lake and lakehouse, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Rest/Graph API). • Strong knowledge of cloud platformssuch as Azure or Google Cloud Platform, and their service offerings. • Experience with data governance, data security, and regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PIPL etc). • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
