About the Role: 

CSG is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Vulnerability Management & Security Engineer to join our dynamic corporate security team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating vulnerabilities across our infrastructure. You will leverage your programming and data analysis skills to automate processes, enhance reporting, and improve our overall security posture. You will work closely with other security engineers, IT teams, and developers to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems. 

Responsibilities: 

Vulnerability Management: 

  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans using industry-standard tools (e.g., Nessus/Tanable, Qualys, Wiz). 
  • Analyze scan results, prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk, and track remediation efforts. 
  • Develop and maintain vulnerability management policies and procedures. ○ Collaborate with IT teams to ensure timely patching and remediation of vulnerabilities. 
  • Perform regular vulnerability assessments of web applications, operating systems, and network devices. 

Security Engineering: 

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security controls and technologies. 
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of security monitoring and incident response capabilities. 
  • Participate in security incident investigations and provide technical support. ○ Assist in security audits and compliance assessments. 
  • Contribute to the evaluation and selection of new security tools and technologies.

Python Programming & Data Analysis: 

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate vulnerability scanning, reporting, and remediation tasks. 
  • Analyze vulnerability data to identify trends and patterns, and generate actionable insights. 
  • Create custom reports and dashboards to visualize vulnerability data and track key metrics. 
  • Integrate vulnerability management tools with other security and IT systems using APIs. 
  • Process and manipulate large datasets for security analysis. 
  • Develop and maintain scripts to parse and normalize security related log files.

Collaboration & Communication: 

  • Effectively communicate vulnerability findings and remediation recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security processes and practices. 
  • Document security procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities. 

Qualifications: 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

Experience: 6+ years of experience in vulnerability management and security engineering. 

Technical Skills: 

  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Python programming for automation and data analysis.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS).
  • Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Knowledge of network security concepts and protocols. 
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Grafana). 
  • Experience with REST APIs. 
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems. 
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. ● Soft Skills: 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. 

Certifications (Preferred): 

  • CISSP
  • GIAC certifications (e.g., GSEC, GPEN, GWAPT) 
  • AWS Certified Security - Specialty, or other cloud security related certifications.

Compensation may vary depending on your location, qualifications including job-related education, training, experience, licensure, and certification, that could result at a level outside of these ranges. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus, and sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role as well as individual performance.

NYC generally ranges: $156,964-$235,446
CA generally ranges: $163,789-$245,683
All other locations fall under our General State range: $136,490-$204,736
