Job Summary
FreeWheel is looking for passionate Lead Software Engineers to help design, build and support our high-quality, innovative video advertising platform. We help the television industry to monetize their premium content through a robust technology platform, which enables consumers to view high quality videos on any device including PC, smart phone, OTT devices, set-top box and traditional TV. Our team is focused on a robust ad serving framework leveraging the C++ to deliver high-efficiency, scalable systems.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities

  • Drive the architectural evolution and scalability of the ad serving framework
  • Architect, design, and optimize the ad serving framework to ensure high performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Lead the development of high-performance networking and multiprocessing solutions using C++.
  • Research and introduce cutting-edge technologies to enhance framework reliability, performance, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with SRE and infrastructure teams to improve observability, logging, and monitoring across distributed systems.
  • Be responsible for the complete lifecycle of software development, including designing, prototyping, implementation, testing, maintenance and technical support.
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, drive technical discussions, and set strategic engineering directions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align system evolution with business and operational needs.
  • Mentor and grow junior members.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field of study
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience with large-scale online service design, development and operation.
  • Expertise in C++ development, with deep knowledge of concurrency, high performance networking, and distributed systems.
  • Deep understanding of Linux/Unix, with excellent data structure and algorithm foundation
  • Proficiency in C++ and network programming. GoLang is a plus!
  • Experience with distributed systems and mission-critical systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and technical innovation.
  • Expertise in SDLC, Agile and Software Engineering Methodology.
  • Great leadership and excellent communication skills with a willingness to work under pressure.
  • Strong passion for learning/practicing new technics.
  • Work closely with global teams and accept additional working time outside of normal working hours for meetings or co-working with global teams.
  • Advertising industry experience is a plus.

Salary:
Primary Location Pay Range: $149,610.68 - $224,416.02
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
