Doran Jones is seeking a Lead Angular Software Engineer to join a highly skilled team of SDLC professionals. The candidate will be working on a project that is an ongoing redesign of the Operational Risk Management application for a large financial services company.


The application leverages Java Spring Boot microservices, an Angular frontend via pod deployments, and an Oracle database.


The project goal is to replace the legacy application with a more modern enterprise application capable of interfacing with many of the organization's external systems. The application will monitor Residual Risk across Processes and assess the effectiveness of Controls across the firm's many global businesses.


This role involves software development, solution design, and architecture. It offers candidates the opportunity to develop and/or leverage full-stack capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery of a group of user interface developers as well as being the escalation point for the team.
  • Lead the design and development of scalable and maintainable web applications using Angular frameworks.
  • Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and back-end developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance and code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Conduct technical feasibility assessments and provide recommendations for feature implementation and system enhancements.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues reported by users or identified during testing phases.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development and advocate for their adoption within the team.
  • Apply practical knowledge of development and engineering to conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software fixes, enhancements, and new systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, API specifications, and deployment procedures.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Develop, manage, build, and maintain the technical components related to server-side and web service-based solutions.
  • Implement and enforce coding standards, code quality metrics, and development processes to ensure project consistency and efficiency.
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and retrospective meetings, contributing valuable insights and suggestions for process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical architectures, project timelines, and resource allocations.

Required Experience

  • 12+ Years of overall software development experience in enterprise systems.
  • 10+ Years of experience as a front-end developer using AngularJS, Angular or ReactJS, Typescript, Reactive Programming, Responsive Design, JavaScript, CSS3, SASS, and HTML5.
  • 5+ years of experience with Angular framework (Familiar with Angular 16 new features)
  • Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, and writing cross-browser-compatible code.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile Software Development practices and how to leverage these to streamline project execution.
  • Expertise in developing high-performing, low-latency, Angular applications.
  • Possess the ability to decompose business problems into smaller parts to correctly solution, taking into consideration the impact on other subsystems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, tuning, and optimizing rendering time, memory & network utilization.
  • Consulting experience.
  • Working knowledge of SDLC, especially regarding improving agile delivery metrics.
  • Strong communication and team/technical leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a platform managed by a DevOps team (OpenShift, a plus).
  • Financial services experience.
  • Full stack experience with Java Spring Boot / Oracle DB
