About the Role:
Olaplex seeks a hands-on Senior Manager, Analytics Engineering to be the technical leader in developing, growing, and supporting all aspects of our data systems. The Lead Analytics Engineer must be a strong business partner, driven to excel in the art and science of data and analytics, and a collaborator who loves to address real business problems.
You will work with the Head of Data, internal stakeholders and external partners to help define our data platform, focusing on modeling and landing data to build comprehensive data products in the Snowflake Data Cloud, leveraging APIs, and using Fivetran/dbt. The ideal candidate will have experience leveraging cloud data stacks to support data analytics platforms and building significant information from various data sources that have direct business impact. This position will report to the Head of Data.
- Lead the building, maintenance, enhancement, and growth of the data architecture, design, day-to-day operational capability, and development of the data lake, data warehouse, and data products
- Partner with the Head of Data and technology leads across other tracks to create and maintain a data engineering practice with a focus on landing data and building data products; lead the architecture and design of data products
- Lead the design and engineering of our data warehouse and data product systems using Snowflake and dbt
- Lead the strategic direction of the data analysis, reporting needs, continuous improvement initiatives, change management, and support for optimal usage within the data platform
- Perform sophisticated modeling and architecture design of our data products
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and documentation of data platform best practices, functionality, customizations, and integrations, and proactively identify opportunities for process and workflow improvements
- Lead the development of systems and processes to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations by properly implementing and documenting clear and complete processes and procedures for enterprise data stores, data lakes, and reporting systems
- Lead the set up and maintain the appropriate data infrastructure to support the data science practice on a Snowflake environment (including key data sharing features, Snowflake Marketplace, ELT tools, data wrangling tools)
- Serve as platform owner of our back-end data systems and own DBA responsibilities (as leader with the ability to delegate among teammates)
- Collaborate with business teams to map data fields to hypotheses, and curate, wrangle, and prepare data for use in reporting, analytics, and data science
- Structure and redesign data flows to maintain a single source of truth for all master data and consistent reporting
- Maintain the highest security standards across the entire data ecosystem
About You:
- 10+ years of professional experience in a data engineering role, or in other similar analytical roles
- 8+ years’ experience as a data analyst, DBA, or Data Engineer
- 8+ years’ experience in writing production-ready SQL
- Prior leadership or people management experience
- Extensive experience with Fivetran, Snowflake, Data Pipelines, and cross-sectional analysis of large datasets
- Demonstrated ability to own a data platform from cost responsibilities to architectural design and delivery of analytical data set for reporting and data science
- Deep experience with data wrangling tools such as dbt is highly preferred
- High proficiency in data extraction, manipulation, and analysis in SQL, as well as strong analytics, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional ability to identify anomalies and patterns in business data
- Expert understanding of relational database principles
- Deep experience with large datasets, database schemas, and SQL
- Deep experience in maintaining data infrastructure in a cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Proficiency with other programming languages to manipulate data, such as Python or R, is a plus
- Experience using tools and platforms like NetSuite, Jira/Asana, Google Analytics, and Klaviyo
- Strong communication (written/verbal), presentation, and facilitation skills

Our Total Rewards:
The annual base pay for this position is $185,000 - $200,000 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, years of relevant experience, skill level, functional expertise, certificates or other professional licenses held and geographic location.
