In this spirit, we are looking for a talented Life Cycle Design Engineer, to support design, certification and investigation activities within the Department of Services Engineering. This position requires task leadership capabilities and significant direct involvement into design activities for: Fleet Management support, Design Change (Redesign activities), Investigation of Field Issues and collaboration with Customer and Maintenance Organizations, thus including activities aimed to improved Product Service Performance (Reliability, Availability, Maintenance Burden and Costs).Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Build deep technical knowledge expertise in aeronautical gearbox components and modules design. 

  • Use of design tools: CAD as Unigraphics NX, and FEM CAE as Nastran, Ansys and in-house SW's.

  • Interface with subject matter experts and product support engineers to provide inputs and operating instructions for field issues resolution and deviations management within the continuous airworthiness domain.

  • Support Field Investigations and root cause analysis adopting TOPS8D methodology.

  • Support, prepare and complete Design Technical Reviews.

  • Support Change in Design process and post certification product milestones.

  • Execute New Product Introduction activities within Avio Aero phase and gate design process, including both analytical and experimental verification / validation steps.

  • Issue technical documents (ie drawings, tech reports, specifications).

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.

  • Have strong engineering outlook. Hands-on engineering foundation.

  • Knowledge of FE analysis and drawings/schemes drafting and interpretation.

  • Basic knowledge of failure analysis techniques.

  • Fluent written and spoken English.

  • Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required.
