At Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC), we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

The Key Account Manager is a key commercial role in the sales organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and expanding our existing accounts (Hospitals, GPs, and Clinical Pathway educators), managing and improving customer relationships, and improving the profitability of accounts. This is a field-based role where you will be working onsite with our clients and building long-lasting relationships. This position will cover Flanders, specifically the Limburg and Kempen regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the point of contact and ‘face’ of ADC to all customers, positioning ADC products as the preferred solution meeting both patient and Healthcare Providers’ needs.

  • Drive ADC sales and share performance by realizing opportunities within the local healthcare environment by creating and implementing a region-specific strategy and building strong partnerships with all stakeholders.

  • Ensure global stakeholder management (HCP, Pharmacist, Purchasing, DPO, IT, etc.) to facilitate access and reinforce partnerships.

  • Communicate the value proposition of Abbott Diabetes Care products/services, incorporating products, IT software, patient services, and Abbott as a leading innovator within Diabetes. Be perceived as a credible expert to gain customer acceptance and endorsement of the value proposition.

  • Identify, shape (multi-stakeholder), and execute projects that are of interest to our stakeholders and that position Abbott Diabetes Care as a trusted and expert company, delivering increased market share.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in a (para-)medical or commercial-oriented discipline or equivalent by experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in a selling position in the healthcare industry with high added value proposals/solutions (medical device experience is preferred).

  • Experience interacting and building relationships directly with healthcare stakeholders/decision-makers at senior levels, such as Endocrinologists.

  • Fluent bilingual in both verbal and written French and Dutch, with good knowledge of English.

  • Proven ability to interact and influence customers at all levels to deliver a successful commercial outcome.

  • Demonstrate the ability to independently drive the business forward in a persistent and self-motivated manner.

  • Demonstrate the ability to interact and collaborate with other team members to foster a positive, success-driven team spirit and entrepreneurial culture within the company.

  • Strong communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization.
