About the team
The finance department of Thales Nederland consists of ~50 team members organized in 2 different competence centers (clusters):
- Shared Services Accounting, Reporting & Controlling;
- Bid & Project, Industrial and Procurement Control (Business Control)
The SSC Accounting, Reporting & Controlling is responsible for the accounting activities of Thales Nederland B.V. As a tax specialist you will be part of this department and concerned with delivering support on tax matters to mainly Thales Nederland B.V. but possibly also to other Thales entities in the Netherlands.
We need a Tax Specialist to support us in our challenging Accounting Team located in Hengelo.
About your future job
As a key member of our team you will serve the organization on all tax related topics within Thales Nederland B.V. and possibly for other entities of Thales in the Netherlands. Your role will encompass delivering compliance to tax rules, monitoring tax deadlines, communication with stakeholders (Dutch Tax Authority, other Ministries and internal), providing insightful financial guidance, identifying and alerting stakeholders to potential risks and opportunities, and actively participating in finance-related improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
The main tasks are:
- Preparing tax assessments and payments of these taxes (e.g. WBSO, income tax, VAT);
- Coordinating tax audits including the monitoring of tax rulings;
- Evaluating, monitoring and implementing tax policies, practices and functional performance standards;
- Supporting internal and external information requests on tax related topics;
- Performing internal control tasks on tax related topics;
- Ensuring financial integrity and adherence to processes (tax compliance);
- Supporting internal improvement and change projects related to tax;
- Being a team player on various organizational levels.
Why you'd be a good match
You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Tax including relevant work experience on tax, preferably in an international environment. You have affinity with tax and accounting processes and a good knowledge of Dutch Tax Law and MS Office. We are looking for a candidate with passion for finance and who likes to work in an informal environment. You have the ability to understand complex processes. Strong organization, analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills are crucial in this role. You are curious by nature and can grow into a professional role as business partner on all tax related topics within the Thales NL organization. Good communication skills (Dutch as native language and English at a proficient level. French would be appreciated) and be a valued business partner.
You have the ability to understand complex issues and to see the overall view. Knowledge of ERP-systems are a big advantage. We will support you in your personal growth to become a more experienced Tax Specialist.
