Position Summary
PMA has an immediate opening for a Junior Project Controls Engineer to support a portfolio of high-profile projects in our Boston Office. This versatile role is inclusive of all aspects of project control management including planning and scheduling, project management, reporting, cost control, and client relationship management on a wide variety of projects.
The successful candidate will provide project/program controls and management and related technical support services as a key member of a larger PMA team supporting the Capital Programs Department. Daily activities may include attending meetings with clients; following up on action items; producing work products; reviewing invoices; and providing change order and schedule reviews, cost reporting, and monthly reporting/dashboards.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in engineering, construction management, or related field required
- The candidate must be well-organized and proactive and demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).
- Experience in project design and construction elements is strongly preferred.
- 1-3 years of related experience in the design or construction process is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional ability to stay organized and handle multiple action items required.
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams required.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or related scheduling tools, PMIS Systems, or similar software is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Project Management Scheduling concepts such as activity definition & sequencing, resource and activity duration estimating baseline analysis, and Earned Value is preferred.
- Experience developing and maintaining project progress reports is preferred.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
