Job Description

Location: Remote – With travel to sites

Introduction to role

The Project Planner will be responsible for creation, updating and maintaining project plans throughout the project cycle for automated systems of varying complexities in an ever changing and challenging environment. The successful candidate will work close with the Planning Manager, Project Manager, Commercial Manager, suppliers, subcontractors and customers in developing project plans in collaboration with the project delivery teams (Engineering, construction and integration).

Role Responsibilities

This role will involve liaising with the project delivery teams including supply chain to facilitate detailing project schedules to the right level of details required for delivering the project.

Actively gathering progress information from project team members including subcontractors and factory manufacturing activities to progress project plans and allow for effective monitoring of the projects and highlight issues/delays to the Project Manager.

Your responsibilities and activities will include:

  • Analyse project performance, track progress and feedback to the project manager on project performance
  • Prepare 6 week look ahead plan
  • Investigating, measuring, and recording Project change and variation through the project lifecycle. Ensuring all planning changes are clearly documented and recorded and instigating recovery plans if the project deviates from the baseline
  • Working within a challenging project environment to create good working relationship (partnership approach) to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Encourage and construct good coherent relationships and partnerships with Project teams, external suppliers and subcontractors, internal business support functions and wider stakeholders - promoting project engagement and successful delivery against project objectives
  • Continuously improve upon own and others within the project planning team, and champion own development of planning best practices to support better individual and business wide project delivery
  • Support a safe working environment within project delivery by championing and encouraging a safety-first culture down through the supply chain

Role Qualification and Skills

  • Primavera experience essential
  • CSCS card desirable
  • Excellent time keeper
  • Balance competing priorities, delivering within deadlines and under pressure
  • Strong and Open Communicator – capable of presenting to all levels within the organization
  • Project controls and project reporting not essential but desirable
  • Fully independent, including for Major Projects.
  • Experienced business partner for person responsible for project.
  • Ensures coordination with other disciplines.
  • Familiar with all methodologies / tooling for single and multi-project planning.
  • Independently states delivery times.
  • Evaluates the methods, tooling and processes used and puts forward proposals for improvements
  • Implements scheduled improvements
  • Experience delivering programmes within an NEC framework not essential but desirable

Please note: Experience of Baggage Handling / Airport Systems will be considered but not essential as training will be provided

Please note that UK and Ireland travel will be necessary along with a valid UK driving license. Some occasional overseas travel may be required
