Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Linux Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This role is crucial in supporting and maintaining our Linux-based systems, with a strong focus on automation and scripting. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of Linux environments, combined with a passion for learning and developing their skills in a dynamic trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Assist in the administration and maintenance of Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and Bash to streamline system management tasks.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance, identify issues, and perform initial troubleshooting to resolve hardware and software problems.
  • Configuration Management: Use tools like Ansible to manage system configurations and ensure consistency across environments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers to implement and document new solutions and improvements.
  • Support: Provide support for internal teams, addressing technical issues and ensuring smooth operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic Linux Knowledge: Understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., Alma, RHEL, Rocky) and basic system administration tasks.
  • Automation Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python and Bash, with a focus on automation.
  • Configuration Management: Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
  • Eagerness to Learn: A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and improving technical skills.

Additional Attributes:

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols.
  • Exposure to containerization and virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker, VMware).

Work Conditions:

  • Availability for on-call support and occasional after-hours work to ensure system availability and performance.
