What’s the scope?

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented colleague to join our team as a Junior Financial Controller, with a focus on capital spending (CAPEX) and lease accounting. This is a great opportunity to build experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting compliance, while playing a key role in supporting our business operations.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Assistant Controller and Accounting Director, and you’ll also support the Real Estate Manager. Your work will help make sure our financial records are accurate, our budgets stay on track, and our lease and property information is up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

Lease Accounting & Management:

  • Maintain lease accounting systems to ensure compliance with standards such as ASC 842 or IFRS 16.

  • Analyze lease agreements to determine proper classification and accounting treatment.

  • Manage lease-related transactions, including the recording of right-of-use (ROU) assets, lease liabilities, and expenses.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting of lease modifications, terminations, or renewals.

  • Prepare financial disclosures and reports related to leases for internal and external purposes.

CAPEX Management:

  • Oversee the full accounting process for capital expenditure projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

  • Track, classify, and capitalize fixed assets and projects.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts and ensure timely asset capitalization.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of CAPEX and lease-related transactions in line with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant standards.

  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation and analysis.

  • Develop and implement internal controls and processes to guarantee accuracy and compliance in CAPEX and lease accounting.

Skills for Success:  

  • You are great at working with others — you’ll be in regular contact with external partners like JLL (who help manage our lease information) and EY (who support with invoice processing).

  • You are a strong communicator and enjoy working as part of a team — building good relationships comes naturally to you.

  • You bring a positive, “let’s figure it out” mindset and are always ready to take initiative.

  • You can juggle multiple tasks and stay organized, even when things get busy.

  • You have a degree in accounting or finance, or you’ve built up similar knowledge through hands-on experience — especially in areas like capital expenditures (CAPEX), lease accounting, or general financial reporting.
