We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer, to join the Greenline team here at IDEXX Veterinary Software!
This role will be based hybrid onsite in the Franklin, TN office.
This role will sit in the Data Operations team and report to the Manager of Data Operations. In this position you will play a key role in building, maintaining, and optimizing Greenline’s Data Pipelines and Infrastructure to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with cloud-based databases, writing efficient SQL queries, and developing data pipelines. You should be comfortable working with both structured and semi-structured data, automating data workflows, and ensuring data quality across various systems. This role will also collaborate closely with data analysts, software engineers and account executives to enhance Greenline’s data capabilities.
Greenline Pet has recently come into the IDEXX Veterinary Software product portfolio. They are a leading SaaS data platform providing an automated solution for delivery of digital coupons and rebates for animal health manufacturers. The Greenline software platform automates a previously manual, paper-based coupon process. The platform reduces friction for the practice and pet owner, shortens the reimbursement timeline, and captures valuable data for manufacturers on campaign performance and pet owner behavior.

A bit more about the role, you will:

Develop working knowledge of Greenline’s clients’ veterinary products and common problems in the industry

Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform and store data from multiple sources

Design and optimize SQL Queries for data extraction, transformation and analysis

Manager cloud-native databases, including dataset and tool integrations

Work with semi-structured data (JSON. Parquet, etc.) and enable efficient queries

Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, inconsistencies and performance bottlenecks

Collaborate with Data Analysts and Software Developers to improve Greenline’s data infrastructure and reporting capabilities

Implemented best practices in Data Engineering, including data governance, security and compliance
So what are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree (STEM, Quantitative or a related field)

1+ years of SQL experience, including writing complex queries and optimizing performance

Experience with cloud databases

Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline development

Basic programming skills in Python, R or SQL-based scripting

Experience with API integrations and working with structured and semi-structed data

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug data issues

Experience with data visualization tools is a plus

Knowledge of the Veterinary industry is a plus
