THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The Commercial Pricing team is at the core of the planning and trading activities at Zalando. Our mandate is to drive and translate localised strategies into commercial pricing incentives for our customers.

As a Pricing Manager in the central team within Commercial Pricing, your role will be to support the market pricing teams in their mission of “winning locally” and consequently have a major impact on the overall success of Commercial Pricing within the trading environment.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED: 

  • You improve, scale and unify our tooling infrastructure and reporting landscape supporting budget planning, forecasting and intraweek steering processes and monthly/quarterly business reviews. As an example, you will be responsible for developing our pricing reporting solution for Cyber week.

  • You are the main point of contact with other engineering and product teams with respect to non-algorithmic and reporting topics.

  • You support the leadership team with the defining and executing the operational plan and commercial pricing portfolios in order to improve our trading capabilities in the long run.

  • You act as a sparring partner for the trading teams, supporting and challenging them in order to achieve the best outcome for our customers.

  • You create simple and innovative solutions that enable the trading teams to quickly turn insights into actions and generate learnings for the future using a single source of truth.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3-5 years of work experience in pricing, online retail, finance or related fields, you have a strong analytics and business background.

  • Proficiency skills in Excel, Google Suite, SQL, S3, Python and Github. Microstrategy knowledge would be an advantage. You are able to set up data pipelines that connect to large and complex datasets.

  • A degree (Bachelor and/or Master) in Econometrics, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or its equivalent. 

  • Ability to effectively drive projects end-to-end and comfortably manage many stakeholders with different interests.

  • Self-driven and result-oriented, you have a hands-on mentality and enjoy working independently as well as in a team.

  • You are a strategic thinker with impressive problem solving skills and critical mindset

  • Great communication skills, you are well structured.
