Junior AWS Cloud Engineer
Role Definition:
Caterpillar IT is seeking a Junior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our AWS team. In this role, you will work alongside both peers and cloud architects to focus on creating foundational buildouts, CI/CD solutions, and cybersecurity projects to support our internal partners' needs. We have a focus on developing the next generation of IT professionals where you will gain a foundational knowledge of the manufacturing industry, as well as key technology trends. What You Do:
- Perform development, automation, and deployment assignments without close supervision.
- Working independently on complex, globally distributed cloud technology components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.
- Support implementations, upgrades, and change requests on client environments.
- Deploying or integrating cloud technologies based on requirements gathered from customers.
- Assisting customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts.
What You Have:
- Proficiency in core AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and VPC
- Experience on a DevOps team that runs enterprise-scale infrastructure operations or application development, with emphasis on Ci/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Experience developing automated solutions to deploy infrastructure or applications (PowerShell, Python, JSON, YAML).
- Solid foundation in software development, experience in web and application development.
- Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and/or application connectivity issues across a complex global network.
- Experience working with corporate security on infrastructure or applications compliance and remediation activities (i.e.: Risk Acceptance, Security Configuration Baseline).
- AWS Associate level certifications or greater.
- Experience using the Scrum framework.
- Effective communication, teamwork, analytical, and people skills.
- Strong problem solving and customer service skills.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed.
Additional Info :
- The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL, Dallas, TX or Nashville, TN.
- This role requires 3 days onsite.
- Relocation is NOT available.

- System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
- System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
