Job Description
The Red Gate Group is seeking a Joint Training System (JTS) Specialist to provide mission-critical support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) at Fort Belvoir, VA. As a key member of the team, you will leverage your expertise to manage and implement the Joint Training System (JTS) and facilitate joint and combined exercises. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to DTRA's mission by enabling effective training, coordination, and execution of high-level exercises within the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Joint Training System (JTS) and operate the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) to support planning and execution of joint and combined exercises.
- Facilitate coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) to ensure successful exercise execution.
- Update and maintain technical systems to reflect exercise requirements, ensuring accuracy and operational readiness.
- Validate and unlock entries in the Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES) to facilitate personnel and equipment requirements for exercises.
- Support Action Officers during various stages of exercise planning, providing technical expertise and coordination.
- Draft and manage high-level communications, including General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) level Automated Message Handling System (AMHS) messages.
- Coordinate exercise requirements with funding managers and develop associated reports and products.
- Assist the Joint and Combined Exercises Branch Chief with technical advice, expertise, and administrative support.
- Track lessons learned and corrective action plans through the Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS) to enhance future exercise effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 10 years of Military/DoD Civilian/DoD Contractor experience.
- At least 2 years of experience at the Combatant Command (CCMD) Headquarters level, with exposure to multi-theater operations or senior staff positions (CCMD and/or Joint Staff).
- Operational experience with joint and combined exercises, including understanding of the Joint Training System (JTS) and operator-level proficiency with JTIMS.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop high-level reports and briefings.
- Must be eligible for or currently hold an active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) U.S. security clearance.
