ING Hubs Romania offers 130 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk & compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of over 1700 high-performing engineers, risk, and operations professionals.
We started out in 2015 as ING’s software development hub – a distinct entity from ING Bank Romania – then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies.
Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.
Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1500 colleagues active in Data Management, Touchpoint Channels & Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

The Mission
Touchpoint Platform is part of ING’s “Think Forward” strategy to become a truly global bank, and is a key success factor for achieving a financial services platform that extends beyond banking. Through our platform, we provide a scalable foundation for platform business models and contribute to ING’s successful position in the new banking ecosystem.
Engagement Suite is a multi-channel communication gateway solution and capable of sending notifications via Mobile Push, Web Push, SMS and Email, all of it provided in an asynchronous and event-driven way.
Your day to day
Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:
- Help define and build new features based on business needs;
- Write structured, tested, readable and maintainable code;
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality;
- Support your teammates by continuing to learn and grow.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Experience: minim 3+ years;
- Tech stack/ knowledge:
- Mandatory: Java 17/21, Spring Framework, RESTful API, Apache Kafka, Git version control;
- Nice to have: knowledge of, or willingness to learn, other languages and technologies (Kotlin, Python), Azure DevOps, Cassandra, ELK stack, Grafana, Prometheus, AWS S3, Docker, Kubernetes, Cucumber, Gatling, Agile Scrum methodology;
- Foreign languages: English (advanced);
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field.
