Job Description:

NetOps R&D works on the Network Observability solution for Broadcom.  The team hiring for this position is creating next generation solutions for the DX NetOps product.  As a Java Full Stack Software Engineer within NetOps, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex solutions using full stack Java technologies while adhering to Agile methodologies to address the needs of our customers. In this role, you can expect to:

  • Make significant contributions to application designs, delivering high-quality work that advances product stability, scale, and technological relevance to customers.

  • Seek out and incorporate feedback from end users, stakeholders, and peers at every stage of the product lifecycle.

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with Product Management, Engineering, Documentation, Support, and field teams that assist in product adoption.

  • Internalize the long-term Network Observability vision, think holistically about the solution and its place in our customers’ businesses, and have an influential voice in the solutions roadmap.

  • Work with our mature Agile teams, embracing a mindset of rapid learning, experimentation, iteration, and close collaboration.

  • Thrive in an environment that balances autonomy with teamwork, rewards divergent as well as convergent thinking, and values your participation in long-term and short-term product decisions.

Skills & experience

To qualify for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or relevant field) with eight (8) years software development experience, or a Master’s degree and six (6) years of related experience

  • Strong software development experience in building enterprise grade products with deep knowledge in applying System Design concepts

  • Experience in collaborating with customers to understand their pain points and solve their problems; conducting solution demos of new features and gathering feedback to further improve the solution

  • Hands-on experience with following technologies and concepts

    • Full Stack Development (Java backend; Typescript/Javascript, React frontend)

    • Docker and Kubernetes

    • Kafka

    • Ansible

    • Spring Boot

    • Network Protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, HTTP/S

    • Distributed Systems and Microservices Architecture

    • Problem solving and debugging skills.

To be successful, you will come to this role with:

  • Solid coding, system design skills and a collaborative mindset

  • Experience building and working with Docker containers

  • Experience designing and working with REST APIs

  • Enthusiastic and proactive about collaborating with customers, Product Managers, Engineers, UX Researchers, and other technology experts in the organization to understand needs and deliver great solutions.

  • Passionate about learning new technologies, new methods, and new skills.

  • Have a good understanding of agile teams, practices, and principles.

  • Ability to contribute to all stages of Secure SDLC

To really stand out as the perfect person for this role, you may also have:

  • Expertise in evaluating multiple design approaches, prototyping new technologies, design systems, etc.

  • Working experience in an Agile product development environment and working with large Agile teams.

  • Passion for coaching, and generally sharing what you know.

  • Participation in Hackathons, ideation, etc.

  • Experience with cloud architectures and a variety of Amazon Web Services

  • Experience with React

This is an in-office position.  Work location for this position is Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  Candidate must have the legal right to work in the US.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $107,000 - $171,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
