Position Summary
This role will be instrumental in shaping the technological landscape of Product Development portfolio. This position is responsible for design and implementation of comprehensive architecture solutions that support our business goals and ensure the seamless integration of applications and data systems. This role involves coordinating project-related efforts across a wide range of stakeholders and sponsors, ensuring proper collaboration among various IT teams to develop a comprehensive technical landscape. It also includes establishing a robust technical architecture, meeting project commitments with the appropriate urgency, and supervising IT teams to ensure successful delivery.

Desired Candidate Characteristics:
- Have a strong commitment to a career in technology with a passion for healthcare
- The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of pharmaceutical development (PD) domain and scientific applications and platforms (e.g., LIMS, ELN) used in PD labs
- Experience in designing and implementing solutions to support modeling initiatives.
- Experience in process mapping, model selection (e.g., mechanistic, empirical, or hybrid) and model development.
- Proficient in application design and development
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and frameworks
- Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and API management.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data analytics platforms.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex application issues.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and convey technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and present architectural solutions
- Ability to stay updated with the latest technology trends and adapt to new tools and framework
- Must have knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and of computer systems validation (CSV)
- Strong Project Management skills, and experience with agile and scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge in Agile software development, Service-oriented architectures, Continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed application architecture blueprints.
- Develop scalable and maintainable software solutions.
- Ensure applications meet performance, security, and reliability standards.
- Integrate various software applications to ensure seamless operation.
- Work with APIs and middleware to connect different systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Implement best practices for software development and testing.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of application architecture and design decisions.
- Provide technical documentation for development and support teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or significant experience in a related field
- Extensive experience in software development, including proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing application architectures.
- Experience with cloud services and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Experience in leading development projects and managing cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with data visualization tools
- Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or similar is a plus.
- Familiarity with designing and modeling database and data flow infrastructures.
- Familiarity with tools like Hadoop, Spark, and other big data frameworks
- Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI technologies (such as OpenAI API, ChatGPT, GPT-4, Gemini, etc.), along with expertise in prompt engineering and vector databases is a plus.
- Persuades and negotiates effectively with stakeholders in being able to coordinate actions for achieving the desired outcome.
- Articulates and presents complex information clearly and concisely across all levels. Demonstrates abilities and knowledge in being able to explain and present complex topics clearly.
- Participates in decision making and brings experiences and ideas to achieve team objectives.
- Applies understanding of internal/external challenges to contribute to the team's vision and maintains a focus on work in accomplishing operational goals.
- Evaluates complex issues through analytical thinking and previous experience to consider short and long-term implications and interdependencies and guides others when enough analysis has been completed in giving recommendations/solutions. Uses calculated risks to evaluate innovative solutions.
