JOB PURPOSE:
At H3X, we are building the most advanced electric motors in the world for sustainable aviation, marine, industrial, and defense applications. At 12 kW/kg continuous, the HPDM family of integrated motor drives is a step change in electric propulsion technology and removes one of the main barriers blocking widespread proliferation of electric and hybrid aircraft. Our motors range in size from 30 kW to 30 MW, include integrated drives, and are 3X lighter than competitors’ systems.
About the Role: As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our organization’s IT systems, ensuring their stability, security, and performance. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and tools, providing hands-on expertise in managing enterprise-level systems. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in system administration, with a strong background in Microsoft and on premises systems in a manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer and manage Microsoft Intune for device management and endpoint security.
  • Configure, monitor, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Implement, configure, and maintain Microsoft Defender to ensure enterprise security.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and webhooks to integrate various systems and applications.
  • Automate routine system tasks and workflows using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Ensure up time and performance of manufacturing systems (ERP, MES, SCADA).
  • Manage IT support for manufacturing operations, resolving system and network issues.
  • Implement and monitor security policies to meet compliance standards (NIST, ITAR, ISO 27001).
  • Optimize network infrastructure (VLANs, firewalls, VPNs) and disaster recovery plans.
  • Maintain and integrate software solutions for manufacturing and enterprise applications.
  • Monitor system health and performance using tools like Azure Monitor and SIEM solutions.
  • Train employees and manufacturing staff in IT security and system best practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in system administration, IT operations, or DevOps.
  • Background in manufacturing, aerospace, or hardware engineering environments
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Intune, Azure Active Directory, and other Azure services.
  • Experience configuring and managing Microsoft Defender for enterprise security.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure management (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and on-premises environments.
  • Scripting and automation skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of system monitoring and troubleshooting using tools like Azure Monitor or SIEM solutions.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls) in a corporate environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.

PREFERRED REQUIRMENTS:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or similar certifications.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with server environments (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native security tools and services.
  • Experience conducting security audits, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Prior experience with enterprise IT system integrations and API/webhook automation.
