Position Summary:
 

Under the leadership and guidance of our new Head of Strategic Sourcing an exciting and dynamic role has been created for an IT Strategic Sourcer. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing initiatives such as spend analysis , market and vendor analysis and supplier selection activities for a variety of IT sub- categories, including but not limited to cloud services, saas, software, hardware, infrastructure, telco, infosec, data centers, network categories. You will be required to build and execute RFPs use our sourcing tool Workday and our other sourcing tools . The role will require you to have a good foundation in financial analysis (Excel) and a strong understanding of commercial and contractual dynamics with IT/Tech vendors (including a good grasp of any TPRM requirements) you will also have the ability to put your own stamp on the role and help build out levels of efficiencies and cost effective strategies such as demand management initiatives, vendor rationalisation programs. We are looking for someone who can provide thought leadership and procurement subject matter expertise to our partners across the business , be that trusted advisor to our key stakeholders and be that business relationship partner to our vendors. The role is based solely out of the US but has global reach across all of our jurisdictions US , London , Bermuda and Singapore.

Profile Responsibilities

  • Recommend and implement category specific sourcing methodologies and processes to achieve Resolution Life’s enterprise objectives and specific business unit’s strategic plans.  Drive action across functional organisations and across business units to affect policies, practices, processes and procedures having an impact on revenue and profitability.

  • Focus on commodities: software, SaaS, cloud, telecommunications, IT professional services, ITO, and hardware.

  • Lead the implementation/execution of competitive bidding events (RFX), strategies, initiatives, and contracts/programs for highly complex and/or high-risk transactions. Understand spend analytics required to support the strategic objectives.

  • Negotiate terms and conditions and pricing for purchases. Draft, redline and negotiate contracts, including but not limited to, Master Services Agreements, license agreements, Statements of Work, order forms, etc.

  • Ability to use Resolution Life contract templates or modify supplier paper to meet the requirements of Resolution Life and it’s global entities

  • Act as a trusted advisor  to our key stakeholders including  key senior management across multiple functions, divisions and geographic locations.

  • Interact with internal/external third parties at all levels of management to support resolution of complex business issues requiring a balance of assertiveness, tact, business acumen and diplomacy.

  • Engage in strategic planning efforts at the business unit and enterprise level. Achieve annual savings targets and other performance metrics as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.  Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years extensive experience in IT sourcing for high complexity categories and/or projects

  • Previous strategic sourcing experience of IT Sourcing negotiating, consulting services, business and contract law, licensing, intellectual property, financing, and accounting.

  • Deep understanding of software support and SaaS service level agreements

  • Good understanding of the TPRM (Third Party Risk Management Process).

  • Ability to “get stuck in” and adapt very quickly to business change whilst meeting timelines and milestones and following the processes currently in place within the function  

  • Strong competency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with the fundamentals of the source-to-pay process

  • This individual must be able to effectively negotiate / read / interpret / draft  pricing, commercial terms, IT terms, and contract terms with Resolution Life’s existing and new suppliers whilst acting like a key advisor to our internal stakeholders  

  • Ability to bring in change and identify areas of change and efficiency

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of running a tender process

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required.

  • Ability to be fully autonomous but have the requisite experience to know when to seek management’s input and advice to resolve negotiation sticking points and internal process roadblocks.

  • Takes the lead on all aspects of the negotiation, including review of proposals, understanding prior contracts, reviewing proposed new contracts, and drafting/redlining contracts in close collaboration with our GC partners.

  • Strong understanding of concession trading and the value of contracting variables that can be negotiated.

  • Deep understanding of software license types and metrics

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required.  Strong team building skills are essential.

These estimates consider a wide range of factors in making base salary decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. In addition to salary, Resolution Life US offers a comprehensive benefits package, including our health & wellness program, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The range for the role may differ based on the location.

  • West Chester, PA: $126,000 - $154,000
