The IT Senior Business Analyst, Global Planning SIOP, will support leadership in collaborating with functional leaders and product owners to define, justify, and deliver IT services and investments that achieve short- and long-term business objectives, advance competitive capabilities, and leverage internal and external IT resources. Responsibilities may include providing input to the lead business analyst and planning architect on strategic direction, facilitating requirements gathering, recommending industry standard processes, contributing to capability roadmaps, and supporting business/systems process analysis for improvements and cost/benefit calculations.

What will you be doing?

  • Supports 18 supply chain planning and execution processes, 17 manufacturing sites, and 100+ warehouses managing $1B+ in inventory and 600+ employees. Identifies and evaluates solutions, prioritizing existing applications. Prepares business cases defining potential benefits.
  • Improves business process capability and performance for delivered projects, including supporting business adoption of the global planning solution. Liaises between the business and application-managed service providers (e.g., Rapid Response, SAP).
  • Drives technology reuse and process standardization. Develops and performs application-managed service processes. Provides secondary support for daily issues, potentially owning some areas of expertise. Coordinates between outsourcers and internal resources to resolve issues and deliver solutions.
  • Drives clear, testable requirements for solutions that meet or exceed objectives. Coordinate requirements walk-throughs and sign-offs. Identifies process improvement opportunities and generates business requirements.
  • As a supportive member of the team, they use current system and process knowledge to help identify, analyze, and solve the root cause of business and technical issues.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Supports the lead business analyst and planning architect with helping the team provide business analysis and requirements management in support of the global supply chain.
  • Help to elicit, define, analyze, and document testable business requirements, liaising with customers, end users, and the information technology team.
  • Leverage superb communication and analytical skills, business relationships, and business process expertise to understand, document, assess, and drive business change needs to accelerate process enhancement and business growth.
  • Drives re-use of existing solution capability or introduction of new technology to achieve program or project objectives.
  • Works independently and simultaneously on multiple projects with various domain experts to understand the current business process landscape, enterprise alignment, and growth.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent experience in a business management or information technology field!
  • Should have a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant technical or business experience, including 5+ years in IT, preferably with a Business Analysis certification and experience in supply chain management systems support and development.
  • Extensive SAP or MS Axapta ERP configuration and user support experience within relevant modules, including multi-functional experience and multiple full project lifecycles.
  • Kinaxis and/or other Advanced Supply Chain Planning systems configuration and user support experience.
  • Knowledge of Kinaxis/other advanced planning systems integration and downstream impacts.
  • Knowledge and experience with business intelligence, data warehousing, and advanced reporting (preferred).
  • Experience supporting and implementing business process improvements within supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP module integration and downstream impacts.
  • Prior experience working in a global healthcare or manufacturing organization is helpful.
  • Licenses/ Certifications: KINAXIS certification: APICS or Supply Chain Certification. SAFe, Agile CSM, Good to have. ERP (SAP) or Axapta is good to have.
  • Exceptional collaboration, teamwork, negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills with internal and external parties, aligned with Smith & Nephew values.
  • Proficient in business process design and re-engineering. Effective communication and negotiation skills (written, verbal, formal, and informal).
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, multi-cultural environment, driving harmonization and standardization.
  • Conducts business analysis (with Lead BA and Solution Architect) to determine business requirements and specify effective processes through improvements in systems, information management, practices, procedures, and organizational change.
