Position Overview:

The Enterprise, Operations and Technology (EO&T) RM team provides risk management services within the EO&T division at Freddie Mac. The IT Risk Associate will assist in driving the closure of Operational and IT related issues by ensuring remediation activities and supporting evidence adequately meet remediation expectations, assisting and/or drive risk and controls self-assessments (RCSAs) for select EO&T business processes (e.g. – Third-party Risk Mgt, Operational Risk and Governance, Operational Resiliency, etc.),  assist or implement control testing / evaluation, identifying process improvement opportunities and providing general risk advisory support for EO&T. Our Impact:

  • Partner with key business and risk management subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand and manage risks and controls associated with Technical and Operational processes, serving as a liaison for 1LOD.

  • Ensuring an accurate and acceptable organizational risk posture; performing assessments on divisional and business process risk and controls, advising on effective risk reduction, and driving issues to closure.

Your Impact:

  • Assess the quality, completeness, accuracy and sustainability of issue remediation and supporting evidence.

  • Perform assessments of business process risks and controls, ensuring risks are adequately identified, measured and mitigated to acceptable levels.

  • Assist the team in identifying and driving process improvements for enhanced team efficiency and effectiveness, including enhanced process documentation, ensuring processes take a risk-based approach, and identifying / enhancing automation solutions where possible.

Knowledge Management

  • Improve / Maintain technical knowledge through ongoing research and review of industry publications.

  • Stay abreast of current industry relevant standards to find opportunities to improve Enterprise, Operational and IT Risk Management practices.

  • Contribute to team growth by leading team trainings and knowledge shares as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Security, Data Analysis or Operational Risk Management related field or equivalent, and/or 2+ years of overall relevant experience

  • Experience working at an organization within the Financial Industry (preferred)

  • Experience testing controls and/or performing risk assessments; summarizing findings and recommendations to key stakeholders

  • Experience with or knowledge of basic Enterprise / Operational Risk Management industry best practices (e.g. – inherent / residual risk, risk mitigation concepts), inclusive of Risk and Controls Self-Assessments (RCSA), is highly desired

  •  Knowledge of industry Information Security and/or Technology control frameworks  to include COBIT, NIST, ISO, or ITIL

  • Preferred Certifications: CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP

  • Experience working in Agile environment is helpful

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $69,000 - $103,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
