We're looking for an IT Project Lead who will support our project developer, manage a team assigned to work on cross-sector projects and initiatives and help them reach their targets. The successful candidate will be involved at all stages of the project, from design to rollout. In this role, you'll come up with objectives, strategies and approaches, and coordinate tasks required to carry out large-scale, innovative projects. You'll draw on your ability to drive results and engage others to effectively manage teams and help the organization meet its objectives. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth knowledge of your specialty area. You're responsible for strategic projects that have a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. You use your analytical skills and comprehensive, detailed understanding of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. You lead and serve as a specialist for teams and decision-making bodies. You represent Desjardins when making agreements with external providers. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Work with contribution managers to meet business objectives and recapture benefits to ensure projects are delivered on time and within allotted budgets.

  • Ensure the availability of the human, financial and material resources required to meet established business objectives.

  • Manage, monitor and communicate the project roadmap and budget. Define and promote governance.

  • Identify and address project issues and risks.

  • Be responsible for rendering accounts and submitting progress updates to the project developer and other decision-making bodies. Help manage internal and external suppliers.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another related field

  • At least eight years of relevant experience in project management

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Knowledge of French is required

  • Familiar with the Project Management Body of Knowledge established by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
