Job Description

The Bank is seeking a qualified individual to join its team its IT Team as Operations Manager.  The Operations Manager serves as the team leader and IT’s primary point of contact for the bank’s suite of enterprise business applications with overall responsibility for those applications and their availability, daily production support, end-of-day processing, and support of the end-users.  Additionally, the role will also have responsibility for IT Asset Management and ServiceNow which is our IT Operations platform.  This challenging role requires a combination of strong management skills, banking application knowledge, strong analytic and problem solving skills, technical acumen, project management experience, and excellent communication skills.  This is a key and highly visible role with interaction across all levels and areas of the company.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a solid knowledge of the broad suite of business applications, surrounding business functions, technical architecture, and application interfaces.
  • Manage a team of Application Managers who have direct responsibility for a set of production applications and who also
    • Manage vendor relationships
    • Stay aware of vendor product strategy, coming features, risks, issues
    • Provide 2nd line support to end-users
    • Oversee application upgrades and patches
  • Manage the Production Support Team that has responsibility for the bank’s end-of-day processes and technical support
  • ServiceNow technical team with overall responsibility for the platform
  • Oversee the IT Asset Management function and ensure a sound design and build-out of the needed capabilities
  • Active participation in IT Incidence and Change Management process
  • Production process automation.  Develop an understanding of in-house process automation tools and identify opportunities to gain efficiencies through automation in IT and in the business units
  • Provide guidance to the technical staff
  • Provide subject matter expertise to strategic projects
  • Assist strategic project teams with the creation of use cases and integration testing (pre-UAT)
  • Participate in technical design sessions & Architecture Review Board sessions
  • Proactively monitor for system issues and adherence to configurations standards.  Lead issue resolution including reconciliation activities and data analysis and provide guidance to technical staff and business personnel
  • Prepare the IT Annual Budget (BAU) in coordination with IT Senior Management & the IT Finance team

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years IT experience in the banking/finance industry highly preferred.
    • Functional knowledge of Commercial Banking, including products focused on Deposits, Lending, Payments & Investments strongly desired
    • Experience with Commercial Banking Technical applications like Core Banking (Jack Henry, Fiserv, FIS), Lending (Loan IQ, Stucky) & Payments (Payment Gateways, ACH/Wires/Swift)
    • Experience working with ServiceNow
    • Excellent project management and business analysis skills, knowledge of waterfall and agile
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills with an ability to drive issues to consensus while promoting a positive collaborative environment
    • Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
    • Heavy experience with applications support, systems integration, data conversions, file transfers, and applications installation, configuration, upgrades, and managing IT assets, preferably in a banking  
    • Strong understanding of technologies such as databases, operating systems, networks, coding practices, and cloud
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to lead troubleshooting initiatives and guide staff
    • Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
    • Willingness to take ownership and accountability
    • Familiarity with market data providers such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Moody’s, and S&P, with protocols such as FIX are a plus
    • Experience with financial regulatory standards preferred

     

    Compensation:

    The expected annual salary for this position is between $170,000 - $200,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individual’s skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
