What are we looking for:
Blackpanda is on the hunt for an IT Manager to join our team.
This is a critical role that acts to provide the rest of the daily infrastructure to help our remote, tech-savvy, high-performing teams to collaborate and be effective across geographies, time zones, and our different verticals. While fundamentally operational, this role helps power our pandas to make sure they can effortlessly be effective and collaborate.
As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day organizational technology infrastructure our staff uses. You will ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems, including hardware, software, and security. The IT manager will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our operations and a long-term impact on our overall growth.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage the timely provisioning, onboarding, and offboarding of staff, consultants, and contractors to our systems in accordance with internal policies and best practices We are predominantly a Mac shop, but people may choose between Macs and Windows, so you will need to be highly proficient with both).
- Provision, provide, repurpose, and manage a fleet of laptops to end users in security compliance in accordance with the IT Security Policy (may be done in conjunction with a third party for users not in HQ, but may also involve imaging).
- Manage the timely creation, control, and deactivation of SSO and SaaS accounts for provisioning access rights and privileges to all users in the organization
- Maintain an up to date inventory of hardware assets and SaaS/software licensing and assist optimizing to a given budget
- Address technical issues and provide timely resolutions to maximize staff productivity
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to IT systems and processes
- Ensure compliance with IT Security Policy, Acceptable Use, BYOM, regulations and industry standards
- Provide onboarding training and support for new hires on the use of company hardware, security, software, and tools.
- Ensure all IT processes and procedures comply with company IT Security Policy, related policies, and industry regulations.
- Implement security measures to protect company data and assets
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and best practices, taking preemptive action to attempt to limit or mitigate our attack surfaces
- Monitor, manage, and assist with budget control and strategic planning
- Perform the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of hardware and software systems
- Ensure the security of the IT infrastructure, including data protection and disaster recovery plans
- Manage network and firewall configurations and maintenance to ensure connectivity, performance, and rock-solid security

- Experience with both Linux and Windows systems
- Familiarity with hybrid clouds and AWS services ecosystem

Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, or a similar role within a technology or cybersecurity environment, preferably at a tech product company or startup
- Proven experience in a mid-stage startup with IT administration, fleet management, and day-to-day IT operations, and support
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of diploma and experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges in product operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with teams, on-site and remotely, across different functions and levels.
- Tech-savvy from a product operations perspective. Ideally some experience with support, admin backends, mailing lists, and operational software
- Comfortable presenting and facilitating to groups over video calls or in-person to describe product and usage using simple, understandable language
- Blackpanda operates in English, but doing business in Asia, someone who can speak, read and write in other languages (eg. Cantonese/Mandarin and/or Japanese) and cultural idioms are bonus points in your favour
What we offer:
- 40 days paid leave per year inclusive of public holidays, which may be taken at the discretion of the employee subject to compliance with our Leave Policy and the approval of their manager.
- Limited Work From Anywhere policy allotment, allowing for work from alternate locations contingent upon coverage provided by teammates and approved by manager for 20 days per quarter.
- Monday through Thursday are required to be in-office; no scheduled internal meetings on Fridays, unless absolutely necessary.
- Enrolment in the company’s comprehensive corporate health plan that includes a large direct billing network for medical and dental coverage.
- Opportunities for inter-office travel, including a required annual week-long Tribe Onsite meet-up.
- $5000 USD/year for professional training budget contingent on approval from manager with 12-month retention requirement
- Relocation package consisting of 2 - 4 weeks of paid lodging once arriving in Singapore.
