Join us for a 12-week internship with the IT Data Engineering group as a Data Engineering Support Intern!
IT Data Engineering is responsible for designing and developing enterprise data collection, aggregation, and access systems for IDEXX's global business environment. We work with traditional data architectures such as enterprise data warehousing and larger cloud-based data centralization systems like data integration hubs. Our products are used to synchronize billions of data points between enterprise applications such as global ERP and CRM applications, collect and normalize reference lab results and clinical utilization, and create easy-to-access data sources for enterprise analytics, sales enablement tools, and data science initiatives.
In this internship role you would…
- Dashboards: Help create and update dashboards and reports to share key insights. Use SQL, Datadog, and BI tools to track performance and analyze data.
- Documentation: Create and update clear documentation of data models and processes in Confluence. Help manage code repositories and support knowledge sharing for the team.
- Data Support: Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and systems. Support data migrations, automation, and assist with reducing manual tasks. Support Snowflake access requests, respond to data-related inquiries and help resolve issues
- Development: Work with data engineers and analysts to gather requirements and improve workflows. Assist in building and maintaining ETL pipelines and integrating data. Learn and use tools like AWS, SQL, Python, and Snowflake to support projects.

- Proficiency with SQL and Python.

- The capability to work through complex instructions and apply technical skills effectively.
- Problem-solving skills, including drawing conclusions from limited information.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements for the role include:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must have completed at least one year of college.
- A track record of student success and potential as demonstrated by GPA, research portfolio, prior work experiences and/or the recommendation of a professor preferred.
