Job Summary:
As an IT Automation Specialist, you will contribute to the success of Caterpillar's state-of-the-art infrastructure solutions. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for the development and support of automated solutions on an existing homegrown platform. You will work to reduce human interaction with IT systems, improve efficiency, and reduce operating costs.
What You Will Do:
Develop use cases and build infrastructure applications utilizing programming languages such as PowerShell, PHP, and Python.
Create applications to manage infrastructure operations across many platforms and technologies.
Formulate innovative data solutions to enhance data generation, collection, and processing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and integrity.
Design, document, deploy, and manage infrastructure Automation solutions through all phases of lifecycle management.
Support infrastructure and deployment projects across multiple regions and locations.
Partner with hardware, software, and vendor teams on the development of Automation solutions.
Provide project participation, advice, and counsel to IT personnel, management, and project teams on various Automation opportunities.
Establish and implement global security and operational best practices and adhere to IT Controls.
Adhere to IT Service Management processes, instruction, and procedural documentation.
What You Will Have - Skills :
Problem Solving and Technical Troubleshooting : Extensive knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems, as well as technical issues on hardware, software, applications, or operations. Ability to apply problem-solving knowledge appropriately to diverse situations and anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues.
Technical Excellence and Technology Advising : Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods, with the ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Proficiency in effective advisory methods, providing valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services, and solutions for a specific technology domain.
Hardware Infrastructure and Requirements Analysis : Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming, with the ability to design, build, and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization. Additionally, knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis, with the ability to elicit, analyze, and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
System Testing and Technical Writing/Documentation : Knowledge of system and software testing, with the ability to design, plan, and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle. Also, knowledge of technical writing, with the ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines, or documents on standards, processes, and applications.
Top Candidates will have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Advanced/Fluent English.
Strong experience designing, deploying, and maintaining automation solutions.
Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and delivering against deadlines in a complex global environment.
Hands-on experience with the following:

• PHP, PowerShell, Python, & SQL
• MySQL & Ansible
• Pipelines, Git, Azure DevOps
• Microsoft Azure and AWS Cloud Service Providers
