IT and Digital R&D Operations and Support Expert plays a critical role in ensuring the operations of digital applications and technology solutions for R&D domain. This position is accountable for the service delivery (Outsourced & Insourced) for R&D perimeter, provide expertise on applications, manage security and application lifecycles.
The IT and Digital R&D Operations and Support Expert will be responsible for the execution of R&D Business services with our IT partners, ensuring business users satisfaction, driving the continuous improvement to enhance the level of services for our Business.
Main Responsibilities
Business processes understanding
- Excellent understanding of Business processes and operations, understand data integration between applications (internal and external).
- Contribute to the analysis of business problems, identify business requirements into technical solutions and processes to deliver business operations
- Analyze business operations to determine opportunities to optimize, Business services, automate processes and data flows
- Support development of Business Digital and Tech roadmap
Business stakeholder management
- Support scope for the Business domains operations
- Actively facilitates and participates in technical and business discussions to define service delivery objectives and align with business objectives
- Performs risk analysis and mitigation, coordination with IT Business Partners for demand management and resource planning
- Develops and manages strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels (IT, Business, external partners)
- Works closely with the IT business and/or Business functions to establish service delivery requirements and identify the most appropriate solutions
Operations Services Delivery, continuous improvement, control, monitoring and governance
- Ensures overall operations meet business expectations (KPI’s and SLA’s)
- Frequently reviews progress vs. SLA’s vs. costs with IT Business Partners
- Focuses on opportunities to improve Business Operation process and ensures delivery of continuous improvement plan through digital solutions and technology
- Communicates updates to the relevant stakeholders, instances at defined intervals
- Ensure service transition of applications from build to operations.
Vendor relationship and contract management
- Monitor the contract services & lifecycle
- Manage governance of the Service delivery for R&D perimeter
- Actively pursues opportunities for improving the vendor partnership, contract terms, introduction of innovative services and efficiencies
Business innovation and continuous improvement opportunities
- Identifies potential opportunities for Business innovation
- Recommends business process and system changes to innovate and improve efficiency and business outcomes.
- Defines innovation initiatives with IT Business Partners and key business stakeholders and leads these collaborative initiatives to drive efficiencies and obtain synergies
Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution in business, IT or project management. Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred
- At least 8 years relevant experience in IT R&D in Biopharmaceutical company
- Manage application outsourcing contracts with provider(s)
- Knowledge on business processes and technology landscape for pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry in the medical affairs and/or clinical development operations, regulatory affairs, and patient safety
- Knowledge on Veeva RIM, eCTD manager EXTEDO, ARIS Global (PV), IRMS ANJU, Veeva Vault Promomats
- Fluent English / Conversational French would be an asset
