We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a IT Analyst Technical Infrastructure in Morton, IL.
The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. Job Summary:

  • As an IT Analyst Technical Infrastructure within the Logistics Information Services division, you will assist in the development, support and maintenance of automation eco-systems to meet customer order fulfillment demands. This role requires fast response times and collaboration with global peers to support these critical processes. In addition, this role will work to build process insights & monitoring systems to optimize automation solutions and enable proactive and preventative actions.

  • This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation
  • This role is 1st shift
  • Our team embraces flexibility through a hybrid work model. In addition to working onsite at one of our PSLD facilities, our hybrid work model allows employees flexibility to work from home based on business need currently
  • This role requires up to 20% domestic travel


What You Will Do:

  • Performing first line support and monitoring for various automation solution across Caterpillar Parts facilities.
  • Assisting in development of automated end to end monitoring solutions with IT infrastructure architects and other developers. Participating in IT infrastructure reviews to support continuous availability of the automation solutions at the site.
  • Proactively monitoring, investigating, and supporting automation systems deployed across Caterpillar Parts facilities. This includes interactions with site staff for issues being experienced in the daily use of automation systems.
  • Performing testing of changes for automation systems & components according to IT Technology Service Management (ITSM) change management processes.
  • Supporting daily site usage of automation systems by handling incoming incident tickets, collaborative MS teams communications and direct calls for issues in using the various automation systems.
  • Working with local facility staff, Network Team, Cybersecurity Team, Site IT Contacts, Logistics Center Managers (LCMs), and other impacted subject matter experts to implement system enhancements.
  • Performing basic network monitoring and troubleshooting connection issues (Wired/Wireless) for automation systems at sites.
  • Providing off-shift and weekend support for incidents and production migrations related to site automation.


What You Have (Required Skills):

  • Hardware Infrastructure : Knowledge of Technical architecture and systems programming; ability to build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.
    • Knowledge of integration with Servers, Network and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Technical Excellence : Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
    • Understanding of Network firewalls and related firewall rules as impacting applications and solutions at the remote sites
    • Understanding of PLC communications and connectivity as used in a shop environment
  • Systems Software Infrastructure : Knowledge of system software interaction, database management systems, communications protocols, and other development tools.
    • Performing server monitoring and network troubleshooting Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), and Identify Service Engine (ISE) authentication, Microsoft servers, Cisco network wired and wireless devices


What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher OR extensive experience in IT Infrastructure.
  • Experience with following ITSM incident, change, and problem management procedures.
  • Knowledge of VMware environments and basic operations and monitoring of related virtual servers.
  • Local Area Network administration using Cisco Prime network monitoring.
  • Planning and testing experience
  • Experience with disaster recovery and/or business continuity planning & testing.
  • Experience with Linux systems and warehouse management systems such as SAP.
