Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
This position will design, develop and validate IoT Tracking Solution and Products that meet customer and internal needs. Be knowledgeable on various wireless and cellular technologies and provide technical support to other internal teams on existing IoT Tracking Solutions.
SCOPE
This position will be responsible for designing, developing and validating the wireless and connectivity aspects of IoT Tracking Solutions. This includes WiFi, BLE, Cellular, Ultra-Wide Band (UWB), etc.
Act as a stage gate in the development of new products and features.
MEASURES
• Design and develop new features and products based on customer and internal requirements.
• Complete hardware and solution design and validation per internal and customer timelines.
• Ensuring new products and features meet requirements.
• Providing technical support to other teams when needed.
MAJOR / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Execute day to day activities, reporting, and communications. Be a key point of contact for other internal teams and manage resources in completing product / solutions design and support activities to meet deadlines.
Be part of the development and improvement of hardware products and features:
• Apply technical knowledge of wireless and cellular technologies and solutions to design, develop and improve the IoT Tracking Solution’s hardware capabilities and features.
• Execute testing and validation of IOT products and solutions. This could include both field and on-site testing.
• Support device / solution failure troubleshooting and resolution.
• Be Digital Operations Stage Gate to ensure IoT product and solution Meets the operational needs of the customer.
• Work with chipset and connectivity suppliers for the above.
Industry Analysis and Support:
• Support the evaluation of competitor IoT products/solutions and provide assessments to Team on performance, gaps and development needs.
• Keep up to date with latest industry standards and advancements in IoT technologies and solutions.
CHALLENGES / PROBLEM SOLVING
• Working remotely with customers and team members in international locations
• Learning both own and competitor’s IoT Solution’ products and solutions to carry out competitive analysis.
AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING
• IoT product and solution Stage Gate, determine if solution is operationally ready for different stages.

Internal: Digital teams (Commercial, Product, Engineering, Implementation, Support)

External: Chipset vendors and connectivity suppliers
TRAVEL
• Must be willing to travel to support Digital activities, up to 20 – 30% travel. Must be able to travel Internationally if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Technical degree with experience/exposure to IoT Solutions and Wireless and Cellular technologies.
• Experience of working with Wireless and Cellular hardware including dev kits.
• Experience working with modem AT commands.
• Good knowledge of Wireless and Cellular technologies including BLE, Wi-Fi, 2G, LTE, NB-IoT, LTE-M, UWB, etc.
• Knowledge of various IoT protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, LWM2M, etc.
• Experience with global roaming SIM solutions and various Connectivity Management Platforms.
Desirable Qualifications:
• RF and Antenna design / testing experience
• Experience of working with public Clouds such as AWS, Azure, etc.
• Experience with various programming languages e.g. C, Python, etc. and working with SDKs.
• Experience in new product/solution/equipment development and launches as user or provider.
• Customer-facing experience
EXPERIENCE
• 3 to 5+ years’ experience with Wireless and Cellular IoT solutions.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Proven technical skills related to wireless and cellular technologies.
• Good experience of designing and supporting IoT Tracking Solutions.
• Strong communication skills with customer facing experience
