Job title: Investment Proposition Lead
Location: Edinburgh or London
Salary: circa £110,000 - £130,000 depending on experience and location
Hours: Full time
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh or London office.

We're thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a proven Investment Proposition Lead to join our Investment Solutions area within Insurance, Pensions, and Investment (IP&I).
IP&I supports over 10 million customers with their investment, retirement, and insurance needs through its multi-product, multi-channel offering. This role supports our customer-facing investment propositions across Workplace, Advice & Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) channels. We're one of the largest Workplace pension providers across the combined DC offering. This role will also support us as we step further into the individuals space through Advice & D2C channels, with ambitions to go further as a market leader – experience in this space is desirable. We're the UK’s only integrated financial services provider, well placed to deliver solutions that see the different dimensions of customer journeys.
You'll collaborate with propositional and distribution teams across the organisation, acting as a bridge between the rest of Investments. Reporting to our Head of Investment Solutions, you'll play a pivotal role, bringing a passion for customer outcomes and an ambitious spirit in developing innovative solutions. We seek a highly motivated, autonomous, and experienced individual to direct a team to drive proposition outcomes.
What you’ll be doing:

Oversee the strategic research, investment design and policy statements, as well as the development and implementation of the investment propositions across distribution channels. Work with the team to make recommendations to the propositional roadmap.

Research and drive the development of market intel to unlock customer insights, understand commercial landscape, competitors and positioning. Discovering opportunities and innovative trends.

Working as a bridgehead from within the Investments team to distribution and propositional leads across the group in Workplace, Advice & D2C. Navigating partner relationships, ensuring customer needs are met and the delivery of investment solutions.

Collaborate with the Distribution function within Investment Solutions, providing intel and amplifying the proposition to support the retention and acquisition customers, engaging with the market.

Guide our investment propositions narrative, collaborating on any external interactions through investment content with the Investment Communications team.

Take responsibility for the lifecycle of investment solutions, ensuring adherence to internal objectives and control environments, including compliance with PROD/Consumer Duty regulations.

Supporting the customer governance frameworks through relationships with Scottish Widows IGC & Master Trust and other key governance committees & partners across the customer propositions front.

Develop and guide a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative culture to drive strategic initiatives as a role model.

What you’ll need:

A wealth of validated experience in developing investment solutions or propositions within financial services across institutional or wealth clients with respect to investments, pensions or retirement.

Solid understanding of the investment landscape across workplace DC pensions, Advice and D2C channels – the range of investment solutions, asset classes, structures used and the market players.

Proven leadership experience in driving and delivering tangible outcomes through people in a fast paced environment.

Track record in building and navigating sophisticated relationships at all levels, internally and externally as a strong communicator.

Familiar with the lifecycle of investment solutions and products, you'll be used to working within a Consumer Duty environment and the requirements of the FCA PROD Handbook.

High attention to detail, highly organised and problem-solving skills.

Desirable to the role is professional development demonstrated through qualifications (e.g. CFA)
