Job Summary
Works with Process R&D, Manufacturing Technology todevelop Basic Data and then evaluate and translate technology alternatives into conceptual
design.
Assist in defining the business needs through asset foot-printing and business selection processes (options, size, scale, cost, and schedule). Reviews and evaluates non-capital alternatives (i.e., tolling, existing facilities). Work closely with business, finance, Investment Engineering, and Manufacturing Technology to develop economics and risk of alternatives. Candidate should live in close proximity to an IFF facility.
Responsibilities/Description:
• SME or highly proficient in cost control and has responsibility for a region.
• Ensure all projects over $1M have a monthly cost review and produce a cost workbook which is then posted on the central SharePoint site.
• Work with Project Manager to determine if a cost control professional is needed to produce the cost workbook
• Provide Cost Control coaching and guidance on project related financial topics.
• SME or highly proficient in SAP for cost control.
• Ability to challenge the scope of work which forms the estimate basis.
• SME or highly proficient in estimate review and validation with regional responsibility.
• Review project estimates for budgeting or any funding request. Issue validation letter formally approving estimates for use in a Gate review and funding request, establishing the estimate quality and accuracy range, and highlighting potential risks/opportunities.
• Review Project Schedule for issues and duration. Note any potential cost impacts.
• Attend ERA (Engineering Readiness Assessments) and Gate reviews. Communicate validation findings while covering the estimate slide.
• Review proposed funding request amount for partial funding requests to be sure team has adequate funds to carry the project to the next Gate review.
• As needed, train Project Managers to use EcoSys for Funding Requests, Monthly Forecasting, and Project Closings.
• Assist Project Managers with monthly EcoSys tasks.
• Extract data from EcoSys to monitor the health of projects in your region.
• Decision maker on Cost vs Capital determinations.
