We're hiring an Investment Counsel to help deploy our latest litigation finance fund. You’ll be joining a growing team of engineers, lawyers, and investment analysts to make real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment. Core responsibilities:
- Legal research and due diligence on investment opportunities
- Preparation of investment memos
- Real-time negotiation with plaintiffs and attorneys over investment terms and pricing
- Training and working closely with the engineering team to translate legal knowledge into automation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, History, Law or related field desirable or equivalent experience from a top-tier institution.
- J.D. from an accredited top 20 law school
- 10+ years post-law school experience, including in a litigation practice at AmLaw 200 firm and/or comparable boutique firms
- Experience with plaintiff-side representation, alternative fee arrangements, litigation finance, and/or in an asset-management environment are pluses but not required
- Experience in several of the following areas: commercial litigation, breach of contract, antitrust, multidistrict litigation, employment disputes, whistleblower claims, corporate governance litigation
