General Summary:The Marketing Associate Director is responsible for understanding the market landscape, defining and execution of key business tactics to support delivery of the brand strategy, and measuring thesuccess of those activities/tactics within the International Hemoglobinopathy Commercial team.With oversight from the Marketing Director, they will lead the development of the promotional and non-promotional activities through different HCP channels and Authorised Treatment Centres and play a key role in measuring the success of implemented tactics.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Marketing Director, Hemoglobinopathies in development and production of IHQ materials to support branded and unbranded campaigns for haematologists, transplanters, and associated care teams
  • Collaborates with country team members to obtain input on development of these materials and ensure aligned implementation in countries
  • Leverages primary and secondary research, as well as existing plans and insights to inform these materials
  • Leads and manages agency partners to ensure on budget and timely deliverables
  • Collaborates with Vertex external communications review committee to approve materials
  • Play a key role in defining KPIs and measuring the success of the implemented tactics
  • Develops strong partnerships with internal Legal, Medical, and Regulatory teams to ensure timely delivery of effective, compliant materials to country teams
  • Partners with brand/country Marketers and, if required, Global colleagues to help shape the brand strategy, segment the market, develop messaging and launch into new segments, including label expansions

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, or scientific degree required or relevant Marketing experience
  • Experience in pharmaceutical marketing or closely related field(s) (e.g., pharmaceutical sales, ad agency, etc.) is required
  • Direct experience with the communications review committee (CRC) for review of tactics is required
  • Experienced in contributing to and influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders with scientific and commercial teams is required
  • Experience in developing multi-stakeholder promotional and unbranded campaigns in Europe and the UK, or global marketing experience is preferred
  • Direct experience across different disciplines of relevance across multiple countries or regions (Marketing, Sales, Market Access) is preferred
  • Haematology, Hemoglobinopathies (sickle cell disease and beta-thalassemia), cell and/or genetic therapy experience are preferred
  • Experience in launching new medicines across multiple markets, ideally with some of this experience in cell and gene therapies is preferred

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as: 
1.    Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2.    On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
