About the role

Our Internal Audit team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness of our controls, governance, and risk management frameworks. We are looking for a dynamic and driven Internal Auditor to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards of operational integrity.

What you’ll be doing

As an Internal Auditor you will use your own initiative and apply analytical skills to assess business processes, test the design and operation of controls and diagnose issues, producing clear audit findings and recommendations that management is willing and able to implement. Working independently or as part of a small team you will be responsible for delivering high quality audit work that will cover the full audit cycle from planning and scoping to fieldwork and reporting. This will include: 

  • Conducting interviews with stakeholders as part of audit engagements

  • Documenting walkthroughs of processes and controls

  • Testing the effectiveness of key controls following best practice

  • Documenting test results in accordance with audit methodology 

  • Communicating proactively with the audit lead and senior stakeholders

  • Tracking and validating the closure of audit issues

  • Contributing to the achievement of other team-based projects and tasks, including taking the lead on key tasks

  • Supporting ongoing relationship management with key stakeholders across HL

About you

  • Experience of working in an Audit role within a commercial organisation and liaising with all levels of stakeholder. Additional experience of working in a regulated and financial services environment will be supportive to your success in this role.
  • An effective and engaging communicator, able to present complex information in simple context, adapting your style to suit your audience
  • Accomplished in forging effective relationships at all levels, skilled at influencing, negotiating and managing challenging conversations
  • An aptitude for analysing data and using it to provide unique insights
  • Able to work in a team or alone and collaborate to achieve common goals plus the ability to self-manage competing workloads & effectively prioritise

Interview process

This will entail a 2-stage interview process including competency-based questions.

Working Schedule

This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is a permanent role, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a hybrid flexible working pattern allowing flexibility of working from home and working in the office.
