The Internal Audit Director sets the strategic direction for financial and operational audits at Graco’s worldwide locations. Ensures the internal audit function provides independent and objective assessments of the adequacy and available improvements to the effectiveness of risk management, internal control, and governance processes, and provide recommendations which allow management to improve organizational efficiency, profitability, and effectiveness. Oversee the audit staff and drive process and quality improvements within the department.

What You Will Do at Graco

  • Set the strategic direction for Graco’s internal audit projects at domestic and foreign locations.

  • Apply a risk-based approach to establish the audit scope and guide the team in developing audit procedures to achieve audit objectives.

  • Manage the team and execute detailed audit procedures, including conducting interviews, reviewing process and transaction flows, detailed testing of transactions and processes, making corroborative inquiries and observations, and using databases to analyze trends and results.

  • Review audit findings with management to clarify extent and source of problem and obtain management's perspective.

  • Provide constructive guidance to management in identifying corrective actions which are practical and effective management responses to the audit findings.

  • Issue clear and concise audit reports on a timely basis to management and the Audit Committee.

  • Conduct ad-hoc audits and investigations as requested by management and the Audit Committee.

  • Perform staff management and administrative responsibilities of recruitment, performance evaluation, mentoring, and skills development. Manage staffing and budgetary requirements to ensure organizational effectiveness. Set department performance standards and ensure process adherence.

  • Conduct IT system control and security reviews with the assistance of internal and external resources.

  • Evaluate the company’s risk profile and perform an annual risk assessment to establish the internal audit schedule for review and approval by the Audit Committee.

  • Oversee the preparation of fraud, anti-corruption, and enterprise risk management assessments.

  • Develop and manage business partner relationships.

  • Oversee the development of a data analytics and continuous controls monitoring program utilizing IDEA. 

  • Monitor auditing and accounting trends and techniques and introduce new methods to improve existing practices.

  • Lead live fraud, cyber security, and code of conduct training sessions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring to Graco

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance business or a related field.

  • A minimum of 10+ years of public accounting and/or internal audit experience, including managerial experience to include the ability to conduct professional, concise financial audits.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and/or Certified, Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation

  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong focus on time management and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage, coach and develop a team.

  • Clear and thorough understanding of accepted accounting principles, SEC, PCAOB and SOX requirements

  • Operational auditing experience

  • Domestic and international travel required (up to 30%)

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation.  If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience.  In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees.  Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role.  Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.

$138,300.00 - $242,000.00
