Are you our new Head of Internal Audit?
As the Head of Internal Audit at Intrum Hellas, you will lead and oversee the Internal Audit function. This role is responsible for ensuring that the company operates in a highly controlled and compliant environment by designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive risk-based internal audit framework. The successful candidate will provide independent and objective assessments of the organization’s risk management, governance, and internal control processes while fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
The successful candidate will be part of Intrum Group’s Global Internal Audit Management Team, actively participating in a unified and efficient approach to the audit function across the Group, while maintaining a clear focus and commitment on internal audit responsibility for the local market in Greece and the respective regulatory bodies.
The role reports to the Chief Internal Auditor of Intrum Group and to the Chairman of Intrum Hellas Audit Committee.
What will you do:
• Develop and implement the internal audit strategy in alignment with the organization’s objectives and regulatory requirements and the global internal audit strategy.
• Advise senior management and the Board of Directors on risk exposure and internal control effectiveness.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to create a culture of ethical behavior and operational transparency.
• Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive, risk-based audit plan covering all business units, subsidiaries, and global operations.
• Ensure timely and thorough reporting of audit findings and actionable recommendations to management and the Audit Committee.
• Conduct periodic reviews of the company’s risk assessment processes and provide input to enhance effectiveness.
• Partner with compliance, legal, and risk management teams to align audit activities with emerging risks and regulatory changes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing internal audit team.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the audit function.
• Promote the use of data analytics, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance audit efficiency and insights.
• Maintain open communication with the Board’s Audit Committee, providing updates on audit progress, key findings, and risk areas.
• Collaborate with other departments to address audit recommendations and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in Global Internal Audit management meetings and other global internal audit activities.
What we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal audit, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the financial services industry.
• Proven track record of leading complex, multinational audit functions.
• Strong knowledge of financial services regulations, risk management practices, and internal control frameworks.
• Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities in a global, multicultural environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior executives and Board members.
• Proficiency in leveraging technology, including data analytics tools and audit management systems.
