Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.
Roles and Responsibilities:The Research Internship will help you experience the excitement of a career in engineering research, where you can have real impact on GE Aerospace’s products and customers around the world.In the GE Research Internship, you will: Work on 1-2 research projects over 2-3 months in a discipline aligned to your expertiseGrow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas Collaborate with diverse teams to develop innovative technologies for GE AerospaceReceive technical insights, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologistsShare project progress internally and externally through presentations, written reports, and IP disclosureRequired Qualifications:
- Pursuing B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or Structural DynamicsStrong fundamentals, domain knowledge and analytical skillsExecution mindset, self-driven with a sense of urgencyExcellent interpersonal and communication skills in a global team environment
Desired Characteristics:
- Shown expertise in the fields of structural mechanics, dynamics, vibration and damping or in the areas of composites modeling and characterizatio
- Good track record through top-notch publications and experience of working in applied research labs in the above areas
- Proficiency in simulation software (e.g. ANSYS, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, ADAMS)
