Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota is hiring a BI Analytics Intern in Eagan, MN for Summer 2025. Our program runs approximately 40 hours per week, June through mid-August. In this role you will apply knowledge of mathematics, statistics and reporting with operations data. This role involves generating and reporting data for day-to-day operations, supporting various teams including operations, government programs, finance, and provider relations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in BI Analytics, working on real-world projects that impact our business and members. This role is based in Eagan, MN and requires 2+ days a week on site.
Day in the Life:

Develops plans, analyzes data, and reports results to a senior analyst to present findings to key internal stakeholders to make informed decisions.

Assist in designing and building strategic and actionable insights utilizing comprehensive visual analytics capabilities.

Assist in preparing reports and analysis to identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets for values and new opportunities.

Assist in developing meaningful reporting programs in a variety of reporting and analytic tools, integrating multiple data sources together.

Assists co-workers in using data/information in new and innovative ways.

Required Skills and Experiences:

We require interns to be enrolled in an educational program during the duration of the internship program.

Completed a minimum of sophomore year (4 semesters) by the start of the internship
-
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.

Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and a customer service orientation

Willingness to take initiative and learn new concepts and technical skills

Capability to work in a hybrid environment, both at home and onsite at least 2 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications:

Recommended course work completed to include Modeling/Data Visualization, Financial Analytics, Marketing Analytics.

Experience with PowerBI, SSRS, SSMS, SSIS or SQL queries

Desire to learn more about Data Analytics

Computer literate in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Role designation definition: Teleworking is working full time remote. Hybrid is a combination of working onsite and remotely. Onsite is full-time onsite.
Compensation and Benefits
$22.00 - $23.00 - $24.00 Hourly
Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
