Internship – Corporate Finance, Debt and Capital Advisory
The team
As an intern at D&CA you will be a member of an enthusiastic and highly driven team. Our team plays a key role in the origination and execution of debt advisory, ratings advisory and transformational financings (loans, bonds, private placements, equity and hedging).
You will work closely together with the members of our team in Amsterdam and other D&CA locations (Frankfurt, Brussels, Madrid, Singapore, Hong Kong and New York), the sector/relationship coverage teams and various product specialists within ING including M&A, Global Capital Markets, Financial Markets (FM), Loan Syndicate, Lending, Sustainable Finance and Corporate Investments.
We offer you a steep learning curve with the opportunity to immediately integrate in the Corporate Finance and Debt & Capital Advisory team of the leading Benelux bank. You will support in various (financial) analyses, pitchbook preparation and day-to-day debt advisory execution within in a broad spectrum of sectors, countries and types of situations (M&A transactions, refinancings, large investments or restructurings). You will operate in a highly dynamic and international working environment. All these items will contribute to a strong personal development in analytical expertise, commercial skills and actual debt advisory experience. The internship provides a unique opportunity to start an international financial career at the highest level.
Roles and responsibilities
A great opportunity has become available for an Intern to join our Debt and Capital Advisory (D&CA) team in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Our D&CA team is part of Corporate Finance, which also includes Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Financial Institutions (FI) Advisory and Private Equity Advisory. Our team is committed to our overall Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA) ambitions to improve client focus and advisory capabilities.
Working in D&CA means working in a dynamic environment on very challenging transactions at the very heart of the ING organization. Together with the other members of your team, you will be involved in complex projects that have great impact and involve public (press) exposure for our clients.
The D&CA team in Amsterdam, consisting of c. 17-20 professionals, seeks highly motivated students for an internship for a period of 4-6 months. The internship is on a full-time basis only and can be started throughout the year.

Since you will immediately operate as a member of the team, we expect:
- Master student (preferred) or (last year) Bachelor student with high interest in complex international financing, debt advisory, capital structuring and corporate finance
- Problem analysis and judgment
- International (open for both international and Dutch candidates)
- High ambition, drive and energy level
- Attention to detail (accuracy)
- Teamwork
- Perseverance
- Know how to ask the right questions and get the right information
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with data and financial (excel) models
- Fluency in business English is required
- Willingness to work in Amsterdam
- Ability to work under pressure, without losing your sense of humour!
